There was a time in my life when I accepted advice simply because I believed the people giving it wanted to see me succeed. They sounded experienced. They sounded supportive. They sounded concerned…
But time has a way of revealing what words try to hide or as I like to say ” what is done in the dark shall come to the light”
Eventually, I stopped listening to what people were saying and started watching what they consistently did because actions speak louder than words. Their actions painted a picture their words never could.
Some people don’t want to help you grow.
They want to help you stay manageable.
There is a difference, a very big difference that I feel is imperative for all to learn to better protect themselves.
I began noticing a pattern. Every piece of advice seemed to point me away from the very things that made me who I am.
“Don’t make yourself the face of your brand.”
“People don’t care about your story.”
“Stop talking about trauma.”
“You need to move on.”
“Stop researching that.”
“Nobody wants to hear all of that.”
At first, it sounded practical.
Later, it became obvious.
If I hid my face… No one would know who was speaking.
If I hid my voice… No one would hear my perspective.
If I hid my story… No one would recognize themselves inside of it.
If I stopped educating myself… I would never discover the patterns that had been controlling my life.
And if I stayed silent…
The people benefiting from my silence would never be questioned and I would slowly lose myself and sink deeper into the isolation that they wanted me to be in to further keep their fangs pierced in me.
Here’s something I’ve learned:
People who rely on manipulation often fear education.
People who rely on secrecy fear transparency.
People who rely on controlling others fear awareness.
Because awareness changes everything.
The moment someone recognizes a toxic pattern, they become harder to manipulate.
The moment someone learns about trauma, they begin asking different questions.
The moment someone heals, they stop accepting what once felt normal.
That is why education is powerful.
That is why sharing your experiences matters. That is also the reason why I started Talks that need to be had (Divine time) to allow others to have a safe space and community to learn, share their experiences, and validate others who are going through or have gone through similar situations.
Your story may become someone else’s confirmation that they are not crazy.
Your healing journey may become someone else’s roadmap out of darkness.
Your voice may become the permission another person needed to finally stand up!
Don’t misunderstand this message.
Not everyone who gives advice has bad intentions. But advice should always be measured against actions.
So ask yourself:
Does this advice make me smaller…
or stronger?
Does it encourage growth…
or comfort people who benefit from me staying the same?
If someone constantly tells you to hide your gifts, your experiences, your wisdom, or your purpose, ask yourself who actually benefits from your silence.
Because healing people become difficult to control.
Educated people become difficult to deceive.
Authentic people become impossible to replace.
Never let someone convince you that your story has no value.
Never let someone shame you for studying trauma, emotional intelligence, healing, or spiritual growth.
Knowledge breaks cycles.
Truth exposes patterns.
And your voice may be the light someone else has been praying to find.
If your experiences can help even one person recognize a cycle, choose courage over comfort.
Because silence protects patterns.
Truth transforms lives.
Relax your mind, it’s all in Divine Time.
Keep growing. Keep healing. Keep protecting your peace.
