Do you practice religion?
Do I practice religion? I could answer this with a simple one word answer…but seriously how much fun would that be? I created this blog to allow people to see how my thought process is, allow people the opportunity to get to know me without actually meeting me. So to answer this question, I do not actively practice religion. I see religion in a very similar way as the Bahai faith. The Bahai faith is a religion founded in the 19th Century that teaches the essential worth of all religions and the unity of all people.
Religion has been a significant part of human civilization for centuries, providing people with a sense of spirituality, purpose, and morality. However, not everyone practices religion, and there are various reasons why I personally choose not to do so. So here we go lol
So to start it off it’s the similarities of all religions:
One of the primary reasons why I do not practice religion is the recognition of the similarities that exist between all religions. Although different religions may have distinct beliefs and practices, the underlying themes and messages tend to be quite similar. For example, most religions advocate for the importance of treating others with love and respect, living a moral and ethical life, and seeking a deeper understanding of the world around us. By recognizing these similarities, I feel that there is no need to adhere to a specific religion, as the same principles can be found across many different belief systems.
Second is the more and more evidence that aliens created humanity that is coming out.
I am starting to believe that humanity was created by extraterrestrial beings rather than a divine entity. This theory, known as the ancient astronaut theory, suggests that aliens visited Earth in the distant past and played a role in shaping human civilization (look up the emerald tablets). While the validity of this theory is still up for debate, I find it to be a more compelling explanation for the origins of humanity than traditional religious beliefs. The idea that we are not alone in the universe and that our existence is part of a grander cosmic plan is both exciting and humbling (and it gets the people going).
Religion is often used as a means of governing humanity:
Lastly, I do not practice religion because I view it as a means of governing humanity rather than a spiritual practice. Throughout history, religions have been used to control and manipulate large groups of people, often with the aim of maintaining power and authority. I believe that the strict rules and regulations imposed by religions can be oppressive and limiting, preventing individuals from living their lives in a way that is true to themselves. While the original intentions of religious teachings may have been rooted in a desire to promote goodness and morality, they have often been co-opted by those in positions of power. I mean let’s take Christians for example the Bible is the basic instructions before leaving earth but people worship it more than their “God” it states that nothing should be added or removed but so many books have already been removed as well as scriptures. Instead of God so many worship Jesus who states he is not God but the son of man. How can you govern yourself by something that isn’t complete, has lost so much credit from the constant translations like the game telephone, and no longer tells the full story?
In conclusion, there are various reasons why I do not practice religion, including the recognition of similarities between all religions, the belief that aliens created humanity, and the view that religions are a means of governing humanity. While these reasons may not be sufficient to convince everyone to abandon their religious beliefs, they do provide an alternative perspective that is worth exploring and considering. Ultimately, the decision to practice religion is a deeply personal one that should be based on individual beliefs, values, and experiences. So do not think I hate religion or am trying to turn you against religion. I am just answering a prompt and speaking my truth.
